Dead by Daylight has recently announced a new chapter inspired by the iconic Dungeons & Dragons universe. This collaboration introduces a new killer, Vecna, who is a well-known mega-baddie in the fantasy pen-and-paper RPG world. The killer will be voiced by none other than Matthew Mercer, the dungeon master from Critical Role. In addition to Vecna, new elf and bard survivors will be introduced to the game, adding a unique twist to the gameplay experience.

Vecna, the lich from Dungeons & Dragons, will bring a new level of gameplay to Dead by Daylight. With four powerful spells at his disposal, Vecna will be a force to be reckoned with. Players will have the opportunity to fly, fire projectiles, manipulate objects with Mage Hand, and reveal survivors with a Dispelling Sphere. Vecna’s own Hand and Eye can be found in treasure chests scattered around the new Forgotten Ruins map, providing players with powerful gear to aid them in their survival.

The Troupe, consisting of Baermar Uraz and Aestri Yazar, will join the roster of survivors in Dead by Daylight. These human and elf bard characters have unique abilities such as creating illusions, casting Bardic Inspiration to speed up generator repairs, and spotting nearby objectives with Still Sight. The addition of these new survivors will bring a fresh dynamic to the game, allowing players to explore different strategies and tactics.

Following the release of the D&D-inspired chapter, Dead by Daylight has teased an upcoming chapter inspired by Castlevania. This new chapter is set to be released on August 6th, featuring characters such as Dracula and a Belmont survivor. Additionally, a brand new supersized casual mode will be introduced, allowing for two killers to face off against eight survivors. This mode will introduce a new dynamic to the gameplay, with caged survivors and team abilities for the killers to utilize.

During the recent announcement, more information was shared about Supermassive’s narrative spin-off, The Casting of Frank Stone. In addition, an Insider Programme for Project T, a PvE game, was teased, along with a two-player co-op roguelite spin-off titled What the Fog. This spin-off is set inside a Jumanji-like cursed board game and is currently available at an affordable price point.

Dead by Daylight’s collaboration with Dungeons & Dragons has opened up a whole new realm of possibilities for the game. With the introduction of Vecna as the new killer, along with the addition of The Troupe survivors, players can expect a fresh and exciting gameplay experience. The upcoming chapters and features teased by Behaviour Interactive also hint at a promising future for Dead by Daylight, with new modes and spin-offs to keep players engaged.
