Epic Systems, a leader in health-care software, has committed to transitioning all its customers to the TEFCA network by the end of 2025. Supporting the government’s initiative, Epic’s move to align with TEFCA will not only benefit its vast customer base but also enhance the credibility of the exchange framework. Similarly, interoperability network Carequality, which includes Epic as a member, announced its efforts to align with TEFCA. By revising its policies to adhere to TEFCA’s guidelines, Carequality aims to prevent conflicts in the exchange of patient records.

With a focus on permitted purposes, such as treatment, Carequality ensures that data sharing is conducted ethically and in compliance with regulations. By supporting TEFCA and aligning its definitions with the new framework, Carequality is setting a standard for interoperability in the healthcare industry.
