Cyan Worlds has recently revealed their plans to launch a new real-time 3D remake of Riven, the beloved sequel to the iconic game Myst. This updated version of the game is set to be released later this year and will be compatible with VR cybergoggles as well as traditional screens. Unlike the original game, which featured pre-rendered screens, the remake of Riven will allow players to freely explore the immersive 3D environment, creating a more dynamic and engaging gaming experience.
In addition to the visual upgrades, the new Riven remake promises to deliver expanded storylines and new puzzles for players to enjoy. This fresh take on the classic game aims to breathe new life into the world of Riven, offering both longtime fans and new players a chance to experience the game in a whole new way. Cyan Worlds’ previous game, Firmament, received criticism for its use of AI in the development process. The developers defended their decision, clarifying that while AI was used to assist in the creation of the game, it was not solely responsible for the content. This transparency from the developers highlights their commitment to honesty and open communication with their audience, even in the face of potential backlash.
