Kia has just introduced the finalized version of its highly anticipated EV3 small electric SUV, and it comes with a groundbreaking new feature – Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration. This futuristic concept vehicle is set to launch in South Korea this July, followed by a release in Europe in the second half of the year. The company has also confirmed plans for the EV3 to hit the US market, although a specific timeline has not been provided.

The most significant highlight of the EV3 is its integration of Kia’s voice-activated AI assistant, a feature previously seen in the Kia K4. According to reports, the assistant is based on ChatGPT technology but has been extensively customized to offer functionalities such as trip planning, entertainment suggestions, and more. This innovative AI feature will initially be rolled out in Korea before expanding to the European market.

The EV3 boasts an impressive estimated driving range of 600km (373 miles) based on the European WLTP system, although US EPA estimates are typically slightly lower. The long-range model is equipped with an 81.4kWh battery, while a ‘Standard’ model with a 58.3kWh battery is also in the pipeline. Additionally, Kia is planning to introduce a sportier ‘GT-line’ variant of the EV3. Performance-wise, the electric SUV can accelerate from zero to 100km in just 7.5 seconds, thanks to its powertrain built on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform.

Inside the EV3, drivers can expect a cutting-edge technological setup, including two 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, a five-inch panel for HVAC controls, and a 12-inch heads-up display. The vehicle also comes with premium streaming apps integrated into the system, powered by LG’s webOS-based auto platform. Furthermore, users have the option to personalize their dashboard with downloadable themes, including sports-inspired ones like NBA themes.

The design of the EV3 is heavily inspired by Kia’s EV9 model, featuring a spacious interior capable of accommodating up to five passengers comfortably. The vehicle’s layout allows for convenient storage of personal items like backpacks and includes a sliding table suitable for a laptop. Since the EV3 lacks a traditional gas engine in the front, it offers a 25-liter frunk, providing additional storage space despite its compact size.

Kia’s EV3 marks a significant leap forward in the electric vehicle market, combining cutting-edge technology, impressive performance, and innovative design elements. With the integration of AI and a range of advanced features, this electric SUV is poised to make a lasting impact on the industry and redefine the driving experience for consumers worldwide.
