In an effort to improve the experience for both hosts and attendees, Reddit has introduced a series of updates to its popular “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) feature. One of the key improvements is the addition of AMA scheduling, which allows users to plan their sessions in advance. This new feature enables Redditors to select “AMA” as a post type within the scheduling flow on desktop, making it easier to prepare for interviews. Previously, users had to create two separate posts to announce and begin an AMA, but now they can start immediately or schedule a session up to 21 days in advance.

To generate excitement for upcoming AMA sessions, Reddit now offers the option to create preview links for scheduled interviews. Additionally, a “Remind Me” button has been added next to AMA posts, giving interested users the opportunity to receive push notifications 24 hours before the session starts. This feature aims to boost attendance and spread the word about the AMA. Furthermore, hosts can now invite up to five guest collaborators to participate in an AMA, allowing for a more interactive and engaging experience for attendees.

Improving Communication and Engagement

To signify the end of an AMA session, Reddit has introduced new end notes that clearly indicate when the conversation has concluded. Hosts can also include links to other social channels in these end notes, giving participants the chance to continue exploring content related to the AMA. Additionally, Reddit has added the option to sort AMA comments by “Answered” and “Unanswered”, making it easier for users to navigate through the responses and identify which questions have been addressed.

These updates are designed to enhance the overall utility of Reddit’s AMA feature and provide users with more ways to optimize their sessions on the platform. Given the popularity of AMA sessions on Reddit, these improvements are likely to be well-received by the community and contribute to the app’s continued growth. With a focus on streamlining the process, increasing engagement, and improving communication, these new features aim to take the AMA experience to the next level and ensure that hosts and attendees alike have a rewarding and enjoyable interaction.

Reddit’s ongoing efforts to enhance its AMA feature demonstrate the platform’s commitment to providing a dynamic and interactive space for users to engage with each other. By listening to user feedback and implementing valuable updates, Reddit continues to evolve and innovate, solidifying its position as a leading social media platform. These latest improvements to the AMA functionality are just one example of how Reddit is striving to meet the needs of its diverse user base and create a more inclusive and engaging online community.
