Rimac has once again pushed the boundaries of electric supercars with the release of the Nevera R. This upgraded version of the already lightning-fast Nevera EV boasts an impressive acceleration of 0-60mph in just 1.74 seconds, making it even quicker than its predecessor. With a staggering 2,107 horsepower under the hood, the Nevera R is set to leave its competition in the dust.
The improvements on the Rimac Nevera R go beyond just speed. The company has worked on refining the car’s aerodynamics, increasing downforce, and improving grip to enhance its performance on the track. In fact, the Nevera R managed to slash an impressive 3.8 seconds off the original Nevera’s lap time on the challenging Nardo Ring track, showcasing its superior capabilities.
Similar to its predecessor, the Rimac Nevera R requires manufacturer oversight to reach its top speed of 256mph. Without this authorization, the car is limited to 217mph. This added layer of control ensures that the vehicle is handled responsibly, especially given its immense power and speed capabilities.
While the Rimac Nevera R boasts incredible performance on the road and track, practicality is not forgotten. The car is equipped with a 108kWh battery that is projected to offer around 250 miles of range under the European WLTP cycle. Although certification is still pending, this estimate indicates that the Nevera R is not just a powerhouse but also a functional daily driver.
As Rimac continues to innovate and push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, the release of the Nevera R sets a new standard for performance and speed in the automotive industry. While owning a Nevera R may be out of reach for many, the prospect of experiencing one through Rimac’s planned Croatian robotaxis offers a tantalizing glimpse into the future of transportation.
