Samyang’s emphasis on capturing an “analog sensibility” reminiscent of film cameras may indicate that the lens produces softer results compared to traditional prime lenses. Additionally, with a maximum aperture of f/3.5 on the 32mm insert, the lens may not perform as well in low-light conditions compared to faster prime lenses with wider apertures.
Compatibility and Pricing
It is essential to note that the Remaster Slim autofocus lens is currently only compatible with Sony’s E-mount lens system, limiting its use to Sony camera users. The lens was initially available for preorder in South Korea at a price of 308,000 won, equivalent to around $229 USD, before quickly selling out. Shipping is expected to commence in early September, with broader availability in South Korea slated for early October. However, details regarding the lens’s availability in other markets have not been disclosed at this time.
